I had a house build in 97 that the builder put a grinder pump in because I'm about 300 feet from public sewer line. I have a couple questions. It seems like every 2 years the system goes into alarm and I call a plumber out and they clean some paper off of the top of the pump and hit reset and the pump works fine. Should I have this done every year so the system doesn't go into alarm? Also, does anyone know a master plumber in the Bucks County Pa area that deals with grinder pumps? I called a couple of people in the phone book and some didn't even know what a grinder pump was. Is there any kind of second pump that can be added incase of the first pump failing, kind of like a backup sump pump. Thank you in advance..

On bigger tanks they put in 2 pumps and the pipe is connected together and the pumps run one one time the other the next time, I dont know how big your tank is but if you can get a name of the tank and pump ypu might find info. on the net. Let me know.
